The porcupine, North America’s largest rodent, can be seen in the northern ridge and valley region of the state. The bobcat, absent from New Jersey for many years, has returned and sightings are becoming more frequent. These native New Jersey animals are in secure naturalistic enclosures, but you have the feeling that you are sharing the woodland together. On your hike you will see bobcat, porcupine, barred owl, raven, and red-tailed hawk. Take a hike through a natural area of mature oak, hickory, and maple trees, but with a difference.
